Microsoft Messenger for Mac 6.0

Commentary:
Mac Users rejoice! Microsoft has released Messenger for Mac 6.0. Note: It now support Yahoo! Messenger contacts just like Windows Live Messenger! At last the messenging ecosystem is complete.
 

Overview

Messenger for Mac 6.0 makes it easy to take advantage of the full power of instant messaging, and it is a Universal application built to run on both PowerPC-based and Intel-based Macs. This update allows Messenger for Mac users to:
  • Chat with Yahoo! Messenger contacts
  • Add a status message that your personal contacts can see
  • Share what you are listening to in iTunes with your personal contacts
  • Create, send, and receive custom emoticons with personal contacts
  • Send and receive custom animated emoticons with personal contacts
  • Search for conversation histories using Spotlight
  • Check the spelling in your instant messages

    How on earth do you sign in and get going on a leopard mac. I got a msn live account name and password, but when I enter it i get the message: service not available or not connected to the internet, Try Again or Cancel.

    I want to be able to video chat from my Mac with my dad who has MSN on his pc. Is there a way we can do that?

    Heyyy,
    I would really like it if I didn't have to keep changing my personal message everytime i sign in....
    And why can I not use webcam?
    Do you think its possible to fix this?

    i like mac messenger for lots of things like spell check and what not. however i really would like to see the ability to rename contacts , (it would be even better if we were also able to keep their  origional name as well just after the custom name, but just grey it out or something)

    also,, an icon on the top to my recieved files would be nice  as well as  changing the status and personal setting drop down menu from the display  picture icon to the display name instead.. and putting instant change display picture access on click for the display picture icon.

    just switched from using a pc for around 5 years to a macbook. arent sure about the whole thing yet.
    and dissappointed to find that there isnt a better version of msn than this. :(
